Month-end without the chase for a 40-partner practice
A multi-office accountancy · 12 Mar 2026
The expertise was never the bottleneck — the paperwork around it was. Neo Accounting Software took over collecting, checking and chasing, and handed staff clean files to review.
Accounting & Professional ServicesContext
A multi-office accountancy practice with 40 partners ran month-end across a dozen clients at a time. The expertise was never the bottleneck — the paperwork around it was.
Challenge
Staff lost month-end to chasing receipts and re-requesting documents. Only 54% of client documents arrived on time, so every close started with collection instead of review — and the advisory work clients actually valued was squeezed into whatever time the chasing left behind.
What we built
We rolled out Neo Accounting Software across the practice. Clients drop documents in one place; the platform chases what’s missing and flags what doesn’t add up; clean data syncs through to Sage and Xero. Staff receive files ready to review, not piles to assemble.
How it ran
We began by mapping the practice’s month-end workflow — where documents came from, where they stalled, and what the chasing actually cost — then rolled the platform out under our standard arc: senior-led delivery with weekly demos, QA gates on every release and one named owner throughout. The platform now runs with SLA-backed support, and month-end runs without the manual chase: staff reviewing instead of collecting, and clients getting a faster, clearer service.

Strategy
Listen first — audit the stack, spend and workflows, leave with a costed, sequenced plan.
Build
Senior-led delivery: weekly demos, security and QA gates on every release, documented as we go.
Run
SLA-backed support, monitoring and optimisation — training and clean handover terms.
What changed
What this drew on
Every engagement ships the same way: one named owner, weekly reporting, documentation as we go — and “your data is always yours” exit terms.
